Dedicated to providing the best in healthcare, the outstanding Hispanic doctor has a wealth of knowledge and cultural experiences that lend to her ability to adapt to a diverse client base. Born in Cartagena, Colombia but raised in both Colombia and Lexington, Kentucky Katia believes that her diverse cultural experiences add to her professional knowledge and bedside manner. Consistently training and studying to make sure her patients have exceptional care, Katia began with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and a minor in chemistry from The University of Florida and received her medical degree from Mercer Medical School in Obstetrics and Gynecofogy. She did her residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. She began private practice immediately after residency and her practice has been a trusted source for medical care in the community since 1994. An accomplished doctor she is board certified by the Fellow of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Known to have a special gift of connecting with her patients, Dr. Castillo is also well versed in the most advanced forms of medicine. She is passionate about providing quality health care to all and has a primary focus on maintaining the best environment for women and their partners to manage any health concern. She has a thriving practice with 2 locations in the Atlanta metro area in both Dunwoody and Duluth, GA. Well respected for her expertise, Dr. Castillo has been called upon by various publications and broadcast outlets for her medical roficiency and has made appearances on Consulta Medica and CNN Espanol.
Dr. Castillo wants the best for her patients and leads by example by being a strict vegetarian and doing a regular exercise regimen. She is a fabulous cook and gathers inspiration from her varied cultural experiences. The mother of two, her son, Alex and her daughter, Emily have great inspiration from Katia and her husband, Gustavo, who are both accomplished professionals. Their family is dedicated to enriching and supporting the Hispanic community as Dr. Castillo was recently awarded by the Columbianito Foundation for 10 years of loyal service.
